Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how the work is done.
Methods & Safety
What cleaning methods do you use?+
Preservation-first methods aligned with National Park Service / National Center for Preservation Technology and Training standards: soft brushes, potable water, and Endurance Gravestone & Monument Cleaner. No pressure washing, no bleach, no acids, no wire brushes. The same standards used on historic grave markers.
Will cleaning damage the stone?+
My entire approach is built on "do no harm." Conservative methods avoid abrasion, etching, and discoloration. If a monument is fragile, unstable, or showing structural concerns, I document the condition and contact you before any work.
How long does a typical cleaning take?+
Most single uprights take 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on biological growth, soiling level, and stone type. Larger monuments, family plots, and heavy lichen take longer. I don't rush — the stone gets the time it needs.
Plans & Pricing
How do annual plans work?+
Annual plans cover 2, 3, or 4 scheduled cleanings per year, with travel included for free within 75 miles of Benton, MO. You pay one annual price and I visit on a regular cadence so the monument stays cared for year-round.
Can I add floral placements?+
Yes. Flower placements can be added to any cleaning visit at a flat per-placement rate, with exact pricing shown at checkout.
Why does pricing vary by monument?+
Pricing scales with monument type, size, and condition. A flat marker takes less time than a tall multi-piece family monument with heavy biological growth. See the Plans page for full pricing by monument type.
Service Area
Where do you travel?+
Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky — up to 150 miles from Benton, MO. Annual plans include free travel within 75 miles. Beyond that radius, a small travel fee applies.
What if my cemetery is outside your area?+
Call or message me — sometimes I can route a visit when I'm already traveling nearby. I'd rather tell you honestly than overpromise.
Visits & Reports
Will I get photos?+
Yes. Every visit includes before, after, and condition photos in your account, typically within hours of the visit, along with notes about what I did and anything you should know about the monument.
Do I need to be present?+
No. You don't need to travel or coordinate access. Most cemeteries are publicly accessible and I visit during normal hours. You'll receive a full photo report after the work is complete.
About
Is this really one person?+
Yes. I do every cleaning myself. No gig workers, no subcontractors, no call center. The person on the phone is the person at the stone.
Are you insured?+
Yes — $2 million general liability coverage, the same level as the national platforms.
